What's the longest relationship you've been in?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 23, 2007:
I'm not really a "counting" type anymore, but let's see:
I know for sure that my shortest relationship was with my first boyfriend, back in highschool, and it lasted about a month. The best thing about it was that I got my first kiss, at age 15. We had great fun, and it lasted just right. I had just started to go out, so it was all very sweet and whole lots of fun! We are very dear to each other now, and I love to meet him. I guess you can always keep the sweetnes alive - if you are over it.
My longest relationship was an on and off triology or something, which lasted for 3 years. It ended up with highschool. I was a funky-hippie girl, he was a rocker. We had great fun, always up to something, him playing guitar and me singing. But, I have to say it lasted waaay too long - to the point where love was no longer there, only attachment. Still, no regrets here. The best thing about the relationship was us growing up together, learning from our many false expectations, rock'n'roll and of course - the love.
Now I am in a relationship...hmmm...people ask me "How long has it been since you two are together?", and I always have to pause and count. I'm off to look for my blue journal now...
...yup, 2005. 2 years and three months. And it's just the time since we started kissing ;)
I guess the relationship started the first time we spoke - about 3 years ago.
I don't know. It just doesn't feel we've ever been apart. There's nothing to count.
The best thing about it: every single little thing and all of it!

Help

Many continued blessings there, Djuro…..
Yes, there are. I'm glad you can see it through my clumsy writing - it's not easy to write about personal stuff.
Again, thanks for dropping by - I keep bumping into you!

…well i guess we must be traveling similar paths.
Have a wonderful weekend….my friend,
CG
sound kool ' him playing guitar, me singing ' may God bless both of you and i wish must getta married wid cheering rocker. Thanks for sharing wid us ur love. but apart , ummm sumthin bad n sad otherwise everythin is interesting.
you know Dardica your relationship is much praisable and to define love explicitly cuz u had been aparted but never felt. awesome
with best wishes
Owais
Owais, thank you for your comment, but you sure did misundersood some parts. The rocker is an ex-file now, but the longest relationship I've been in. I hope he finds a loving wife, but I am happy to be out of the picture.
There are no bad nor sad things about any of these relationships. Things have hurt, of course, but it was obviously the only way for us to learn, back then. Everything that happened has learned me another great lesson, and made me able to be in such harmonious relationship I am in now.
The one I feel like never been apart with is my man. It's like we've grown for each other to meet, but not until we were both ready for unconditional love. Yes it is awesome, but it cannot define love. It can only define this segment of it.
I guess love is just so far aways from the word-range, but so visible in action.
If I knew you in person, owais, I would tell you : Don't ever try to define love. It doesn't require one.
Blessings,
djuro
Indeed i am sorry that i misunderstood some parts, but what i felt i wrote and found that you are in love wid him since three years and have been aparted many times but never felt. i felt you are in love with him.

owais
Oh, Owais, you're cracking me up! ;D
The one with whom I have a feeling I've never been apart is a whole another guy! He's not the rocker. He's the one that makes my heart sing.
I'm glad it's obvious I'm in love with him. One of the sweetest things about love is that it makes people around us happy and serene. I'm glad to see that even on the Internet, I get a similar response, and I only mentioned him. Love rocks!
Sure, I'll look at your blog post! But don'task for validation. Of course you're right, you're speaking from your heart!
Peace,
djurdjica
